Every year the major cities of Belgium
observe a "car-free day" as part
of "European Mobility Week" — a
campaign to
encourage people to take advantage of alternative
transport for a healthier environment.

This year, the Foundation for a Drug-Free
Europe
chose this day, with its emphasis on living
healthier lives, to launch its new anti-drug
campaign. |

drug education booklets of the “Truth about Drugs” series
have been delivered
to the people
Members of
the FDFE in
their anti-drug
t-shirts joined other volunteer on "Car-Free Day" in
passing out brand new drug information booklets
to the many pedestrians thronging the Brussels
streets.
“Truth about Drugs” booklets provide straight
forward, little known facts on marijuana, ecstasy,
cocaine, crack, heroin, LSD, painkillers, “kiddie
cocaine” (prescription stimulants),
and methamphetamine. Today there are more
than 18 million copies in circulation and
information on them is available at www.drugfreeworld.org.
